For three years the Portland Rotary Club sponsored the students at the Portland Arts and Technology High School in building a house, as a project for the senior students. The Rotary club provided seed money to buy supplies, and many area businesses have donated building materials. The house was designed by students in previous classes. The students built the house, with supervision from the PATHS instructors. The houses were completed and sold by the Rotary Club, to pay back its investment. The Portland Rotary Club put a total of $25,000, from the sales proceeds, back into programs for the community. The Rotary Club also awarded "toolship" grants to help students buy the necessary tools for their new careers. Toolships were awarded to two carpentry students, one electrical student, two plumbing students, and one masonry student, each year of construction. Below are pictures of the completed house, now located at 30 Maple Street in Westbrook.
